Matt Gondek
2026
This space is the home and working studio of painter Matt Gondek. The layout was built to handle the reality of his practice—a high-volume environment where he lives alongside a full-time crew of painters.Instead of trying to hide the work, the design leans into it. The infrastructure is built for the heavy use of a daily painting staff, using raw materials that can handle the mess and scale of the art being made. It’s a functional merge of a private residence and a professional shop, where the floor plan is dictated by the movement of the team and the physical requirements of the paintings. It’s less about a "concept" and more about a space that can actually keep up with the output of the studio.
